"Flash," a 2001 gelding, is smart, friendly and willing to learn. He cuts
cows -- all -- by -- himself! (Is there such a thing as too much
"cow"?)
Flash has a lot of potential
in the cutting arena. His sire - San Colonel - is a winning cutting horse
with offspring that are winning cutting horses. Said of San Colonel:
"Anyone can ride or handle him; and he is passing this sweet disposition to
his offspring. His foals "don't have any buck in them!" I think Flash
just might follow in his dad's footsteps!
Yes, Flash is proving himself to be one great ranch horse. He was easy to
train and quick to learn. He never bucked during training. This spring
(2004), Jim
saddled him up and worked some cows -- after having not been ridden all
winter!!! And boy did he love it! And he's only a three year old? He has the
maturity and gentleness of a 10 year old horse -- and he's only a three year
old !!!!
"Flash" is for sale $5000. (But we really would just as soon
keep him!)

When we took "Flash" for a ride outside the
arena for the very first time,
at two years old,
he did so well, we thought,
Hey, let's go work some cows!

"Flash" with a little help from the cowdogs.
It's again time to move cows.
In this picture, he is three years old.
First time out after not being ridden for a year....

....."Flash" is calm and relaxed.

BUT with a lot of GO! All you have to
do is touch him,
and he's off.
That combination so characteristic of all great quarter horses.
